The Environmental Science class is studying energy resources and uncovering the science behind harnessing them for human use. As part of their learning, students built their own wind turbines, testing how much energy they could generate at different distances from the wind source. It’s hands-on learning in action, and the results were impressive!

She attended our team meetings and was able to give insightful input. She was clearly passionate about her work and stated daily that she was enjoying her time in the classroom. She also went out of her way to grade papers and stay late to make copies.”
“Shelly recently retired from teaching, but came back to help cover my leave for birth of my first child. She went above and beyond to learn the material, students, and staff in a short period of time. Her influence on my classroom and my school is measurable and meaningful. Shelly is also the nicest person that I have ever met. She cares about all those who she interacts with from students to staff and families. She is a great representative of what teachers can mean to the world.”

Students in AP Biology dove into the fascinating world of signal transduction pathways by sampling a variety of foods before and after drinking Gymnema tea. The tea worked its magic, turning some flavors into extreme taste experiences—salty and sour flavors intensified, while sweetness all but disappeared! Even our SRO joined in on the fun, bravely biting into a lemon, only to discover the extra sour "bite" was more than he bargained for.
To end Quarter 2 in the Middle School, Mr. Merkes had his class get into groups of 3-5 and complete his famous "Create a Game" Project. For this week, students had the opportunity to teach their class a game which they created all on their own. As long as the game was safe and we had the equipment, we tried it out! It is always fun to see the creativity and leadership our students bring to the table! Some games become a huge success and Mr. Merkes goes and adds those games to his repertoire. Great job Middle School!

As we continue to celebrate alumni week, we were happy to welcome back the CHS Girls Basketball Alumni. Members of the 1999 State Runner Up team came back and spoke to our team!
The final Alumni event will be on Tuesday, January 21st for the Alumni Dance Team members. They will be honored after the CHS Dance Team performs at the Girl's Basketball Game against WLA.
This observance day commemorates the January 15, 1929, birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. King was a civil rights leader, minister, and winner of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he was assassinated April 4, 1968.
Campbellsport School District welcomes Deputy Jordan Behm as the Campbellsport School Resource Officer. Deputy Behm began his Law Enforcement career in 2017 as patrolman for the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. He brings over seven years of patrol experience to the Campbellsport School District. Deputy Behm also serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO), member of the SWAT team as an operator and previously as a negotiator. In addition, he is also on the boat patrol team.
Deputy Behm is a 2013 graduate of Laconia High School and a 2017 graduate of UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. In 2017, Deputy Behm graduated from the Fox Valley Technical College Law Enforcement Academy.
Deputy Behm is looking forward to working with the students of the Campbellsport School District as well as continuing to build strong relationships with the school administration, staff, parents, and community members.
To wrap up our alumni weeks, we will honor the dance alumni on Tuesday, January 21st during the CHS girl's basketball game against WLA. Come out to watch the CHS Dance Team perform and get in free if you are a CHS Alumni Dancer!!
The Campbellsport School District is seeking energetic individuals to implement middle and/or high school athletic programs with an education based philosophy of teaching and coaching. We are currently looking for assistant baseball coaches for high school starting late March 2025.

As a valued employer/resource in our area, we are inviting you to participate in our career fair. If you decide this would be advantageous for your business/school to participate, we will be providing a space in our common meeting areas in which you could connect with the students, promote your business/school and the opportunities it has to offer, hand out job applications and even conduct onsite job interviews if that is your desire. Students will be encouraged to participate in our career fair. We know many of our students will be looking for long and short term employment opportunities, so it is our hope that this opportunity will be advantageous for both groups.
