The WIAA has granted a waiver request from the Campbellsport School District to allow Josh Onwunili to compete in the 2024 Track & Field Tournament Series, beginning with the regional competition on Monday, May 20.
Onwunili was initially declared ineligible last August in accordance with the membership’s transfer and residency regulations. School district leaders used the WIAA membership process to work cooperatively with the association’s executive staff to move ahead with an extenuating circumstances waiver request.
We appreciate the time, effort and perseverance of Josh, his family, Coach Derek Toshner, and Athletic Director Tom Griesemer as we addressed this issue. Also thank you to the Campbellsport community and all those that lended support. We look forward to cheering on our team as they compete at Regionals on Monday, May 20th!
