Campbellsport School District students return to school on Tuesday, September 3rd! Over 1200 students will be walking, riding, busing or driving to school. Please be safe. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has the following back-to-school safety tips for drivers:
Slow down and use extra caution as students return to school.
Drivers should be extra cautious around school buses, especially when students are getting on or off and morning and afternoon pick up and drop off times.
When a bus's yellow lights are flashing, drivers should slow down and prepare to stop.
When a bus's red lights are flashing, drivers must stop at least 20 feet away and wait for the bus to start moving again.
Drivers should leave more space between their car and a school bus than they would another car.
Drivers should never pass a bus from behind.
Drivers should follow the directions from the school crossing guards, including stopping when directed.
Drivers should stop for pedestrians, including those with white canes or guide dogs, and let them cross before moving on.
Drivers and passengers are required to wear seat belts in Wisconsin, and children must be in the correct child safety seat.
Pay attention, slow down and keep our children safe!
